About
Angie Sotiropoulos is a visual artist based in Edmonton, Alberta on Treaty 6 Territory. Formally trained as a Props Artisan and Scenic Painter for theatre at Macewan College (now University), she has been working in the entertainment industry for over 20 years.
Since 2016, she has been focused on developing her own creative projects. She creates mixed media sculptural work under the banner of the Society of Curious Creatures, enjoys painting with watercolour and ink on location as an Urban Sketcher, or in larger studio projects like the Storefronts of YEG series and her newest adventures are taking her into the world of bookmaking as Dragonfly Book Press . Story telling is at the heart of all of her work and future projects are seeing her developing pop up and dimensional paper stories to add to her repertoire. She is a member of the Sculptor’s Association of Alberta and the International Urban Sketcher’s Edmonton chapter. Her work has been exhibited in group shows in Canada and the UK. You can purchase her work at local art and craft fairs or from her web store. A lover of all things nature, when not in the studio she enjoys travelling with her partner or can be found tending to her ever growing menagerie of plants. |
